Outdoor Herbivore is a wonderful company that was started by a couple who were hiking and backpacking in North Carolina. They were desperately in the market for healthy, well-made, locally produced and sourced, vegetarian meals.
As they talked to other backpackers, they found that others desired the same sort of thing, so they started the company Outdoor Herbivore. |
They are now based out of Sacramento California and they work hard at producing food that is 85% sourced locally. With such a strong foundation and wonderful ethics, Outdoor Herbivore is a company that truly cares about their product and its people. They not only cater to vegetarian hikers, they now also have many vegan meal options, as well as gluten free options. These meals all cook in 15 minutes or less, and they are very delicious, nutritious, and will sustain you whether you are a day hiker, weekend backpacker, or a long distance thru-hiker!
