My name is Franziska, I originate from Germany, but have lived in Oregon for 25+ years. I am an avid outdoors-woman with a great love for hiking, backpacking and photography. Over the past 9 years, I have really discovered how amazing and diverse the state of Oregon truly is, and I want to share my trail discoveries with everyone else. It brings me great joy to take new people out and show them the magnificent beauty of Oregon!
I started Hike Oregon because when I first began hiking again as an adult almost 10 years ago, I was going off of an old guide book published in the 80's and I would come across a lot of outdated information like relocated trailheads, mileage was off, there was no longer a view, etc. When I would go to look online for more information about these hikes from the book, I couldn't find anything. I knew I couldn't be the only one having trouble finding information, so I took it upon myself to document current and accurate information every time I did one of the hikes from the old guide book. I made sure to take lots of pictures so that folks could see what the hike and trail was like before going. I wanted to have 15 hikes fully documented before making the site live, and on August 28th, 2014 I launched Hike Oregon. The Hike Oregon website is a solo venture and I do it for the pure joy of sharing these hikes with others. I do all of the web-design, writing, photos and photo editing, map design and YouTube video filming/editing on my own. I currently enjoy all of my adventures from my home base in Eugene, Oregon. My name is Daniel Fent, I am an avid adventurer/photographer who hikes and snowshoes all year long. Being born and raised right here in Oregon, I have been blessed to be able to explore this state from a very young age. I began backpacking about twelve years ago and today I’m more addicted than ever, but no matter how much area I explore there’s always more! My biggest joy, however, is sharing my knowledge and experiences with others!

My name is Audrey Ross. I am a mom of 2 little kids who loves the outdoors! Between trail running and hiking, I want to cover as much unpaved ground as I can. I grew up hiking and backpacking through the Red Dessert and the Wind River Mountains in Wyoming. Hiking in Oregon and taking my own kids on those hikes was just the natural progression. The amount of hiking opportunities that Oregon has to offer is mind blowing. I want other parents to know of these trails so they can get out and experience them with their kids as well. My goal is to encourage and empower parents to get outside (beyond the swing set or cell range) and experience nature with their children.
